If you have been having problems logging in, firstly make sure your username and password are correct - click here. Once you have checked that your username and password are correct, then you may need to check the settings on your web browser to make sure that it is configured correctly to access this site. Internet Explorer UsersThe most common problem preventing users from people correctly logging in is if cookies have been disabled or have been restricted higher than the normal settings. In most cases this can be fixed by going into the Internet Options menu item:
Once opened, select the Privacy Tab, and check it is set to Medium (the default setting). Click the Default button to reset if it is not set this way.
If you wish to keep cookies disabled to prevent other websites keeping a track of your visits, you should at the very least enable Session Cookies (on the screen shown below found by clicking the advanced button on the Privacy page). Session cookies are used to grant you access to the members area of this website, and as these are automatically deleted by your system once you leave the website, you should have no privacy concerns about their use.
Netscape 6/7 UsersTo check whether you have restricted cookie settings, go to the Preferences option on the Edit menu:
Select the 'Cookies' option inside the Privacy & Security category as shown below:
By default, Netscape should be configured as shown above. You may also need to click the 'View' button and ensure the 'medium' button is selected on the next page. For advanced users who wish to have modified cookie policies, you must ensure that cookies are enabled, however to prevent storage of cookies on your computer you can select the 'Limit maximum lifetime of cookies to:' option and select 'current session'. This means any cookies used by a website are deleted once you leave the website and nothing is stored permanently on your computer. Firewalls/Corporate networksIf you have a personal firewall product, this may also interfere with the cookies being used with this site. We would certainly NOT recommend that you disable your firewall, however you should check the configuration and speak to your firewall supplier if you suspect it is causing a problem. If you are trying to use wheresmydate.com from an office network, your network administrator may have put in place security settings either on your computer or on the servers which may limit your ability to access sites requiring authentication. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do directly to circumvent this, and you will need to speak to your network administrator about this. |
